Some observations
about myself newly released into the civilian world:
-Sir & Ma'am -
not too deeply ingrained in me yet and easily dropped with annoyance.
Civilians find it ammusing, but associate it with age.
-Cupped hands - an
annoying little habit that happens occationally when one forgets or
stops thinking about where one is and reverts back to habit.
-West Point reaction
- expected that all react with interest when told. Lots of East Coast
people know people who go there. Uniforms can be mistaken for guards.
-Popping off - talk
louder now, can't hear those that don't
-Sleepless - perpetual
drowseyness. Standing in class is a West Point thing.
-Eager to learn -
when military stuff arises must show knowledge and learn about to 'brief
on.' Navy sucks.
-Binge factor - will
eat simply because it is impossible to get at West Point. Aslo speed
and amount has increased.
-Seclusion stories
- find out you're out of touch with civilization, but you've lived a
lifetime of stuff to tell about West Point.
-The Habitual - when
for about the time of an impulse, you think "I'm in the hallway
now, got to stop talking."
-Realization of Benefits
- the Army feeds us and houses us well. Classes are small and close
and scheduled.
-Cleanliness is...
- unorganization is unsightly - tidyed up the hotel room and made friend
fix her closet - ahh!
